Just a heads up to server-people, that
cPanel v11 is going to be released over the next few days. They've got a completely new look and feel for it, as well as some major upgrades people have been waiting ages for. In particular, they now fully support apache 2 and apache 2.2, and it comes with the easyapache3 script for managing the install.
Another notable feature that is going to be interesting for many clients is the ability to setup a "web disk" that you can simply treat as a regular drive on your computer, with the difference being, it's directly linked to your web space.
While talking about software,
winSCP have had their beta version 4 up for several weeks now, and it also has some very nice features and changes added.
It now uses non-intrusive balloon style popups for messages, and a lot of the disconnection popup window bugs have been fixed! More importantly however, it now includes the ability to use standard FTP. Even though it's rare, I still seem to have to connect to FTP sites every now and then...
filezilla does the job well from a technical point of view, but winSCP's interface and the ability to have -everything- all in one program for file transfers is a great move forward.
Update 2nd May, 2007: Another very important item to take note of in cPanel 11, is that it now will have full support for Ruby and Rails - and make it very easy to install/manage gems, can't wait!

Yep, cPanel 11 has come out, and it's a significant improvement over cPanel 10. I upgraded a server to it (using "CURRENT" build), and am liking it so far :).
Apparently, EasyApache3 still has *heaps* of bugs in it, and people are suggesting to not use it on production servers yet. Stage 2 of cPanel 11's release (for CURRENT anyways) is on 30th May 2007, so I'll see if it's improved then :).
As for WinSCP, I prefer using Linux - GNOME has SSH transfers (as well as FTP, SMB, and WebDAV - WebDAV is what cPanel is referring to as "Web drive") built into its file manager (Nautilus) :D
