Crimson Editor Open Sourced

Some of you may know, I primarily use Crimson Editor for all of my coding work. It does a great job of being a simple text editor, but has some really powerful regEX search and replace functions, and handles code without a fuss.

The application has not been updated since 2004, and there were rumours the author had passed away on the sites message board.

It is possibly old news, but it looks like the souce for Crimson Editor has been released to the public. Great news, hopefully some talented C++ developers can continue on the project.

Some of my 'wish' features off the top of my head are:
  • collapsible code blocks
  • search and replace in a directory without needing the files open in the main window
  • integrated user manual for easy looking up of functions (auto-complete as well)
Feel free to add your own suggestions!

I concur. If CE had those features, it would be the only tool I'd use for site design. And if Crimson Editor won't/can't be updated to include those features, are there any other editors that offer that? Besides, of course, Homesite or Dreamweaver...
